Jabil’s Annual Global Deliver Best Practices Competition is Underway
The Deliver Best Practices competition is a global continuous improvement challenge to recognize, support and promote employee innovations at Jabil. Since 2009, Jabil has hosted the annual global competition, inviting teams from all Jabil locations around the globe to submit their best practices projects.
Entries for the 2012 competition increased by 103% over 2011. Projects are submitted in four categories: employee development, social and environmental responsibility, operational excellence and customer service. Past projects have ranged from recycling to building better schools to building more effective and efficient operations. “Continuous improvement is a big deal because we’re striving for customer retention, cost efficiency and returns on invested capital, which drives shareholder value, notes Jabil Chief Financial Officer Forbes Alexander.
This year over 1000 entries will again vie for top prizes in October at the finals held at the company’s headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida. “Deliver Best Practices day is one of my favorite days of the year. The competition emphasizes the innovation and creativity of our folks…it’s just awesome,” enthused Mark Mondello, Chief Operating Officer.
